Assistance with Daily living supports also known as ‘Personal Care’ are supports that assist participants within their daily living needs or personal care activities, this is usually within the participant’s own home. When accessing these support services you can have a support worker assist you with tasks such as
- Light cleaning
- Cooking
- Personal care activities such as showering, dressing or personal grooming.
Assistance with Daily Living is a core support; this means you can access in-home support through the Core Budget of your NDIS Plan. As your Core Budget is flexible you can decide how you would like to spend it as long as it is reasonable and necessary, this means you can access ADL supports without having it directly stated on your NDIS plan. You should consider speaking with your LAC or Support Coordinator to assist you in planning how much in-home support you would like to access on a regular basis and plan for this at your next planning meeting.
